(English version below) Hakim nous attendait avec John et Daniel à l’université de Kyambogo, pour lui c’était important qu’on rencontre aussi un facilitateur et un jeune bénéficiaire des actions de l’organisation ! Hakim coordonne l’organisation, John y intervient régulièrement et Daniel est engagé au sein du groupe jeunes interreligieux.
Peace Action World Wide est situé à l’université de Kyambogo, à Kampala, avec des antennes dans les écoles secondaires de Kyambogo et dans le sous-comté de Kira, dans le district de Wakiso. L’organisation a pour mission d’apporter soutien et accompagnement aux étudiantes et étudiants, et répondre à leurs besoins, qu’ils soient matériels, moraux ou spirituels.
Pour réaliser cette mission, l’organisation trouve des financements pour les frais de scolarité et le matériel scolaire des étudiantes et étudiants en difficulté, propose un encadrement spirituel et psychologique et organise des groupes étudiants interreligieux pour qu’ils et elles puissent surmonter ensemble les difficultés. L’association est aussi sollicitée pour organiser des événements interreligieux dans les camps de réfugiés.
Nous avons des bourses pour les étudiant·es portant un handicap. Nous ne devons pas oublier l’époque à laquelle nous vivons. Pour soutenir les personnes portant un handicap, nous sommes passé ·es de l’institutionnalisation à l’inclusion.

L’ensemble des actions de l’organisation sont accessibles aux personnes porteuses de handicap. L’inclusion est au cœur de la vision de l’organisation, elle est d’ailleurs une des premières à avoir traduit la bible en braille Luganda.

Peace Action World Wide is located at Kyambogo University, Kampala, with branches in Kyambogo secondary schools and Kira sub-county, Wakiso district. The organization’s mission is to provide support and guidance to students, and address their needs, whether material, moral or spiritual.

To achieve this mission, the organization finds funding for tuition fees and school materials for students in difficulty, offers spiritual and psychological guidance, and organizes interfaith student groups so that they can overcome difficulties together. The association is also asked to organize interfaith events in refugee camps. All of the organization’s actions are accessible to people with disabilities. Inclusion is at the heart of the organization’s vision, and it was one of the first to translate the Bible into Luganda sign language.
